What are we doing?
1) informing the public and any interested stakeholders about the negative
impacts of the currently used conventional woodfuels and parrafin on
health, household economy and environment, and the potentials of renewable
energies for poverty reduction and sustainable development in Malawi
2) establishing information & best practice sharing platforms through stakeholder
network facilitation
3) implementing complementary pilot projects and offering advice to
partners who want to integrate renewable energy components in their projects
4) conducting research on the use of basic energies and related issues
5) evaluating existing approaches to RE projects in Malawi and informing policy
makers, donors and implementers to improve pro-poor sector growth and
sustainability aspects
6) conducting field tests of different RE technologies for cooking & lighting
7) enhance overview and coordination of energy related actors & projects inMW
8) promoting the wide-spread knowledge and use of simple RE technologies
