Martina Kunert, Board Chair holds an M.A, in Pol. Science and Contemporary, Social & Economic History from the University of Mannheim, Germany. Her professional training includes banking, PR, journalism, policy formulation and advisory work. After managing projects with international teams since 1999 in different transition and developing countries in Eastern Europe, Russia and the West Indies, a volunteering commitment brought her to Malawi early 2009. Living and working closely with Malawian communities allowed her an in-depth insight into perspectives and percceptions of the local society. The observation of huge negative effects of unsustainable use of natural resources and lacking coordination mechanisms to promote clean and affordable energy solutions led her to participate in the fight against energy poverty in Malawi. In her non-RENAMA life, she works as a consultant and co-director of an award-winning social start-up enterprise for clean energy technology distribution, which she co-founded with some Malawian and German friends. Martina is a member of several energy-related high-level steering groups, coordination bodies and governmental taskforces in Malawi. . Felix Jalasi, Treasurer is a highly experienced administration & management professional who has worked with both private sector companies and NGOs. For many years, Felix has been working for the Malawi Chapter of one of the biggest humanitarian foundations in Africa. He is dedicated to leading RENAMA towards its goal of reducing energy poverty as one of the crucial human rights. Dickson Salanje, Secretary holds an Advanced Diploma in Community Development (ABMA). He was has vast hands-on experience in Early Childhood Development and health mobilization projects and has been facilitating community-based development activities for many years. He has been involved as a Community Development Officer in the field facilitation of the Rural Off-Grid Energy Kiosks pilot projects. Dickson is currently working as an Outreach & Entrepreneurship Director at Powered by Nature, the energy entrepreneurship programme of a local social enterprise establishing value chains for high-qulity micro-energy devices. . Lucy Msungeni, Trustee is an Environmental Health specialist and researcher. With her background in... and experience in proposal development, she supports the design of new RENAMA projects. .
Jordan Kowalke, Trustee has a vast background of experience in different fields. As a seasoned  technical expert on biomass stove design, he brings a specific bio-energy focus to the RENAMA Board. He is especially passionate about sustainable forest management and energy efficiency and is currently leading a pilot in Malawi to develop an economically sustainable distribution chain for sustainably harvested woodfuel. He is also a member of the National Cookstove Taskforce.
